Ice Skating at its Best! Rated 2nd friendliest rink in the U.S.A.*

has been teaching the community to skate since 1965. Our programs encourage a true love of the sport, from Beginner to Advanced; Recreational to Competitive. We offer skating lessons from Preschool to Adult by accomplished professional coaches with excellent Learn-to-Skate Lessons, private Figure Skating Lessons, Synchronized Skating Teams for adults and children, and instructional Ice Hockey programs to help you join a team. All these programs are offered to the public and club membership is not required although we recommend it if you want less crowded ice times, more skating sessions and discounted session rates.

USFSA MIF/FS Tests Thursday, December 9, 2010 Morning and Afternoon Schedule

All late applications will be placed on a waiting list and are subject to a late fee. Application must be signed by coach and accompanied by required fees. A letter of permission to test must also be received if Home Club is other than the Skating Club of Wilmington. Special time requests must be clearly noted on the application. We will do our best to accommodate those requests, but cannot promise that they will be met. No Refund for canceled tests.

IT'S TIME FOR THE SCW FOUNDATION'S 2nd Annual HOLIDAY WREATH SALE!

Please help the SCW Foundation in this fundraising effort by purchasing Holiday Wreaths for yourself, your family and friends. These wreaths are made from freshly cut evergreen pines and will be sent directly via UPS to whomever you wish. The Foundation gets $10 for every wreath sold. Thank you for your help and Happy Holidays to you. Deadline for orders is November 17 until 5:00PM. Don't wait to order! Shipments will be scheduled the week after Thanksgiving. Feel Lost? Need Help Figuring Out Our Programs or Which Membership Level is Best for You?

No need to feel overwhelmed! You can e-mail our Membership Chair and she'll either answer your questions or if you wish, she can assign an age-appropriate mentor either from our Junior program or our Adult program. Give it a try!

Dot would like to move them since they've just been sitting in the front office, so now they are available at any price--whether it's for a quarter each or $5 each. It's up to you. Definitely priced to sell & move out!

You may also leave information in any of our SCW mailboxes located in the foyer next to the front office. Birthdays and anniversaries will also be acknowledged here, but be sure to submit a photograph with the information.

SCW would like to "re-welcome" Coach Jennifer Eppes. You should be seeing her rinkside coaching her students and participating in Group Lesson sessions.
All members are encouraged to stop and say hello to her as she builds her teaching program at SCW.

A little birdie told us that Christie is expecting her first child! Considering that she's been teaching kids for several years, we were wondering when she'd get the itch to have one of her own. Well, hell must have frozen over and we're very happy for her! Congratulations to Christie and her husband, Philip. He or she will be at least as cute as this one!

Did you know?
Many events and services at SCW do NOT require SCW membership, such as ballet classes, off-ice conditioning, birthday parties, USFSA tests, competitions, public skating, group lessons, ice skating exhibitions, use of the snack bar, skate sharpening and mounting, skate shop purchases, ice shows, and even Programmed Dance sessions!

That we are one of the few rinks in the U.S. that has a large number of coaches with Olympic & World skating credentials? Check out the excellent coaching staff at SCW. We're like no other with "ice skating at it's best!"

Please drive slowly as you approach or leave the Club's parking lot. Many children use our facility! One-fifth of all children 14 years of age and younger who die in motor vehicle crashes are pedestrians. Don't forget that the speed limit on Carruthers Lane, West Park and East Park Drive is 25 MPH!
For your own safety, please make sure that you leave nothing in plain sight inside your car, particularly in the evening hours. All valuables should be carried with you or locked in your trunk.
