The Newark Delaware Huntington Learning Center has been operating for over 20 years in the Newark area and 15+ years in the current location. The center is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and hires and trains certified teachers to instruct enrolled students to ensure we deliver positive results that lead to school success and repeat customers for additional services. We help students with tutoring from Kindergarten through 12th grade in three service areas: · Academic Skills – English, phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, math, study skills, and critical thinking skills and teach Common Core standards. · Exam Prep – SAT, ACT, ASVAB, GED, ISEE, CSEE, PRAXIS, Terranova, Smarter Balance, and specialty exams · Subject Tutoring – Instruction in higher level courses for math (Algebra, Geometry, Trig., Pre-Calculus, Calculus); sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Earth / Space Science, Physics); languages (French, Spanish, Latin); and Advance Placement courses. To diagnose what skills are not meeting grade-level expectations, new students take an Academic Evaluation that includes six to 13 notionally normed, standardized assessments to assess the students site words, reading fluency, phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, math, writing and study skills. These results are presented to parents and an individualized program of instruction is outlined to bring the student’s skills to grade-level expectations. ADHD impacts 11 percent of all children across the United States. Huntington worked with Psychologist Dr. Mary Rooney who specializes in ADHD to develop our ADHD Support program, an evidence-based, non-prescription approach to helping students manage their ADHD symptoms while they rebuild academic skills and learn organization and executive functioning strategies. Huntington delivers results! Over the course of our students’ programs their average improvement is as follows: · 2+ Grade Level Growth in Reading and Math · 5.3+ point increase on ACT Composite score · 226+ Points increase on SAT score Delivering student results is what motivates our teachers and staff on a daily basis. Call us to learn how we can help your student become successful in school and on their entrance exams.
